THE ORACLE

The voice of the group.

LIQUID LOVE

Container

We will hold a container of embodied consent and boundaries, inclusivity, support, and radical nonjudgment; we hope to cultivate an essential sense of trust for edge-pushing explorations to bravely unfold.

All are warmly welcome, to come as your full, unfiltered, beautiful self.

Here, we can cultivate a space of radical permission – of removing the layers and wounds of shame, stigma, and oppression, and remembering a sense of freedom, choice, authenticity, and deep connection to ourselves, to each other, and to this great earth.

Below you can find the intensives and single classes that will be offered. The content can changed and adapt.

INTENSIVES

Biophany

with Swan Alyon

Biophany is an exploration of ordinary existence in light of expanded states of consciousness. The core of the practice is as simple as it is powerful. We first let the body take over the mind, sensing rather than speaking and receiving rather than reacting. We then let ourselves become empty vessels moved by the subtle energies, impulses, and forces that flow through us. We thus cultivate an attitude of creative surrender, finding effortlessness and spontaneity. This practice draws on paratheatre and Butoh and springs from modes of non-action found in Daoist Wu Wei or in Zazen Shikantaza, or Qigong. We come together to bear witness and take part in the play of creation as both actors and spectators of life.

Raw & Real

with Christine Linnea

I think life is sexy because it is real. It matters. The matter.

It is the constant curiosity to come to know more. To understand better.

It is the wonder that keeps me walking. At times it turns into a dance. Sometimes a song.

It is about being present and attentive to the creation itself, expressing, through you, & around you.

It is raw.  The kind of sitting naked next to the sea with a knife cutting off rotten flesh in-between vertebrae disks of a whale bone swept upon the shore, kind of raw.

Always with respect and appreciation, for life, and death, and all in-between what makes life beautiful.

Softening into the pleasure of existence.  Surrendering into the sacred chamber of your heart, the fluid wisdom at the core of your spine.

There will be complex manipulation of the corpus and simple cosy moments of sipping tea in the afternoon sun,  sharing a story or two, from the big sea, of how and what I became and give some humble hints of where we are heading.

This is a true opportunity to sink into the silence of your bones and express the wisdom of your blood. To put you in alignment with your ancestors. To water the roots of the family tree.

Longing and belonging.  There is no reason or time to waste to explain who you are or why you love what you love.

Just dance. Move. Sing. because it feels good, the beauty of being.

Easy and free. Just like that, and by doing that allowing others.

I might bring some hot wax, some ropes, some floggers or other transformational tools, let´s see where spirit and attention flows when packing my bag and what stirs in the deep currents of our com-unity on arrival.

I am looking real forward to this one. To have some fun, share some love, get some courage and break some rules.

See you soon.

With love.

Christine Linnea

Sandheden er ikke for sarte sjæle.

Grace & sweetness will be guiding this quest.

SINGLE CLASSES

Triangles – Strongest shape of insecurity

Laci Sárkány & Eszter  Sarkadi

Mathematically speaking triangles are the strongest shapes while in contact improvisation maybe it is the most challenging setup. In a duo if you are not super active your partner still keeps on dancing with you (until they get bored of course). While in a trio you can easily find yourself left behind while the other two roll on.

In this workshop we will play with the trio format. We will try ourselves in different roles, experiment with different intentions. We can simply enjoy the playfulness of this exciting form of contact improvisation but we can also dive deeper to experience our connection patterns.

Restricted into freedom – Playing with scores

Laci Sárkány & Eszter  Sarkadi

Scores in contact improvisation can be interpreted as an attention focus or a restriction that we add as an extra to our dance. Anything can be a score: we keep eye contact or we never touch the floor with our hands or we only use our nose as a contact point etc.

They seem to narrow our possibilities but at the same time these scores force us to let go our patterns and find new ways we may never tried before. This is how they give us more freedom. Just like haikus or sonnets in poetry, the fixed form boosts our creativity

In this workshop we will play with endless possibilities of scores also enjoying the surprises we present to ourselves.

Pathways to Pleasure ~ A Somatic Exploration of Consensual Touch

with Donal Gannon

A series of practices to awaken our hands (and bodies) to experience more pleasure more directly; and to relearn how to truly go for what we want, while respecting the limits of others.

Gradually and sensitively increasing the stretch of our comfort zone; building trust of our fellow explorers and our own internal navigation of what we do and don’t want; safely contained surrender; loads of exquisite and respectful touch… and blindfolds!

This is an experiential exploration of the Take-Allow dynamic of the Wheel of Consent® as developed by Dr. Betty Martin. Donal has trained with the School of Consent, and in process to become a certified facilitator.

Restoring Collective Soma ~ Cultivating practical skills to support groups to thrive

with Donal Gannon

It is becoming more and more apparent that effective and sustainable change of any kind requires us to come together, to group. Unfortunately, despite our best intentions, we severely lack skills in how to function effectively in groups.

In this session, we learn many of these skills and embrace the opportunity to practice them in a live learning laboratory. We can explore various types of group process and/or methods to increase functionality of groups like clarifying shared purpose and co-creating effective systems and practices for mutual support, collaborative decision making, conflict transformation, communication, information flow and feedback.

Music Soundscape for Contact Jam and Rituals

with Riki Parenti

My style as a musician is minimalist and meditative mixing voice and singing from different styles and registers as well as loops, acoustic guitar and organic sound effects (small and medium percussion). I really enjoy finding the correspondences between music and dance, actively practicing both roles (musician and dancer) for years. My eyes are most of the time looking at the dance floor to stay in continuous connection with the floor, emphasizing that the silences are strong and alive, to remember all the time that music and sounds (and creativity in general ) arise from a fertile void….

Music Soundscape for

Journey through Voice

with Riki Parenti

Journey through the Voice” is a group vocal exploration workshop through differents voice&singing practices as singing in a circle, body percussion, movement and improvisation as well as the practice of songs and musical games from different ethnic traditions. This workshop is designed for all people who want to discover, in a playful and creative way, the limitless potential of their voice beyond the traditional criteria of “good singing”. Our guiding thread will be the search for a present and available state of the body and voice, as well as connecting again and again with the pleasure of collective creation in real time.

Embodied videography

with Marina Tsartsara

A sensorial way of filming and editing the moving image, following my own embodied experience as a participant, while at the same time being attentive to the qualities/mind/energy of the room.
Participating in the workshops will enable more trust and subtle use of the camera, almost like another body in the space.

We welcome everyone to step in…

We aren’t just creating an event to come experience, Touch&Play cultivates community.  It takes all of us stepping-in to co-create a safer inspiring space.  This retreat is also more enriched and enlivened by what we all weave into it.  Everyone even, if is not holding a role, will be invited to take care of the spaces by simple spontaneous caring acts.  We also will be inviting you to consider stepping-in in other ways.  Some of which are explained below.

MEAL DISCUSSION OR AFFINITY GROUP:  Space to talk about themes you are passionate about.

COMMUNITY OFFERINGS: There is an afternoon where participants will be invited to submit proposals for a 1.5 hour community offering.  This could be a workshop or guided experience.  A limited number will be selected to facilitate during one of the afternoons.

PERFORMANCE NIGHT: We will start one evening with a open stage for any participant who wants to share a meaningful piece to the group.

The Touch&Play performance night is a cohesive evening of performance offerings from all participants. This show is a chance for conosilded and amteur artists to express, expel and exchange with offerings they may not be able to share in other contexts, while being witnessed and held by the rest of the community. Performers, who will sign up to perform beforehand, may prepare pieces prior to the event or create them organically throughout the week.

EXPLORATORIUM: The Exploratorium is an evening of sensory experience and experimentation! Explorers will meander throughout our spaces, pausing at booths to play, witness and offer experiences. Previous offerings have been a hot wax station, tea&hug, kissing booth, oiled sock wrestling, non-consensual therapy, flogging booth, fire play demo, rope demo, fire poi, lap dance station, sensation station and human buffet. During registration or the retreat, interested participants will have a chance to sign up to offer something during this evening.

Do you want to be part of the Soothe&Care Team?

When you register you will be asked if you want to be part of the Soothe & Care team.

In order to create a safer container we invite volunteers (participants, teachers) to form part of the Sooth&Care team. This means contributing a little of your time supporting participants in processing their experiences by (e.g. co-regulation, deep listening, being present, finding a container for emotional release). As part of the Sooth & Care team you will need to attend a short pre-festival briefing onsite by the Soothe & Care Team Lead(s) in the afternoon before the festival starts. During the festival you will meet once or twice as a team to share your observations and experience of the group. The commitment to the role doesn’t require much times and it is flexible so it aligns with your own needs and boundaries. Within the team you’re mutually supporting each other and it’s a lovely way to bring your contribution.

SOOTHE & CARE TEAM

The Soothe&Care Team is a group of volunteers who are available throughout the event for inner-personal support.  The intention is to cultivate a community of co-regulation.  Volunteers attend in-person meeting at 3:30pm the day the event begins. Volunteers choose when they have the capacity to be of support which can look like deep listening, breathing together, offering validation, or taking a walk.

More ways to support and feel supported…

Sharing Groups

We invite all the participants to be part of a small group and engage actively every day during a specific time created for that.

Sharing groups is one of the ways to support the integration of the T&P experience. It’s about listening, sharing and feeling  with our diverse and wild realities.

Peace Council

The Peace Council is one of the structures that cultivates the culture of welcome and care that Touch&Play wishes to create. The Council deals with interpersonal conflicts between participants, teachers and/or organizers. A major part of its work is dealing with consent issues and the fallout caused by them. Depending on the size and location of the retreat, the councils are made up by the core organizers, a Touch&Play Global representative and an onsite team lead. The Peace Council leads are normally professionals in the field of mediation, restorative justice and/or crisis management. It is their role to gather and centralize relevant information on conflicts and consent concerns or violations, directly or through the Soothe & Care Team. They will evaluate how to support the parties involved in and affected by the conflict with an emphasis on self-responsibility, de-escalation and restorative justice. The full council is responsible for deciding on and implementing larger action such as the continued participation at the event of any given individual. The council is there to support the integrity of the container so that we may hold the complexity and edges of what we come to explore together. It is part of Touch&Play’s mission to seed peace in the world.

Medical & Emergency Support Team

When you register please let us know if you are a medical doctor, counselor/therapist, first-aid trained or a crisis intervention specialist and are open to being contacted by an organizer during the festival in case of an emergency (This is a list for internal use.)
